Q: |
How do I know what type of case do I need? |
A: |
It depends on the size of your equipment, how fragile it is, what type of environment it will be exposed to and how many times you will be using the case. |

Q: |
How do I know how much foam to have in the case? |
A: |
As a quick estimation, you can use 2" on each side of your equipment. However, we suggest you contact the engineers at Allcases to help guide you because there are literally hundreds of foam types developed to meet a wide range of cushioning needs. It also depends on how fragile the equipment is. |

Q: |
How do I get a custom designed foam? |
A: |
Allcases has many stock designs for computers, monitors, and video equipment that we have done for other customers. If we don't have it, we can create one with a simple outline sketch of your equipment or have one of our engineers visit and discuss your individual need. |

Q: |
How long does it take to get a case? |
A: |
Many cases are kept in stock & can be shipped in a day. These are generally either empty or foam filled. However, when a custom foam insert is required, two weeks is a standard lead-time. |

Q: |
What is an ATA case? |
A: |
ATA stands for a generalized specification produced by the Air Transport Association (ATA). Many case types meet this; however the most common case type is fabricated from plywood with a plastic laminate trimmed with aluminum extrusions for additional strength. |

Q: |
What is the benefit of an ATA case? |
A: |
Since an ATA case is constructed from plywood, expensive tooling is not required . We can make one to any size in any quantity. |

Q: |
Why do I need a pressure relief valve (prv) on my case? |
A: |
The valve serves two purposes. The first is to allow your case to be watertight & airtight. The second reason is to limit the amount of "free breathing" of the case that would occur. Moisture due to condensation would accumulate and you would have a build-up of mold & mildew in the case. |

Q: |
Why would I select an aluminum case? |
A: |
The benefits of an aluminum case are that it is light weight, can be constructed to an exact size, and provides shielding against EMI and RFI signals. |

Q: |
What is a rack mount case? |
A: |
It is a case with an electronic rack mounted inside. The rack can either be suspended by shock isolators or can be hard mounted directly to the case. |
Q: |
What size can I get? |
A: |
The standard width of the rack is 19". The height varies by the U size (1 U = 1.75") and the depth can vary depending on your equipment depth. The equipment can be isolated to about 25 G’s. |
